Evesham – Evesham Township Police posted the following information regarding a recent arrest for DUI and drug distribution charges:
On July 27, 2013 at 3:32am, an Evesham Police Officer patrolling inside the DDACTS Zone conducted a motor vehicle stop on a
pick-up truck that he observed driving carelessly in the area of Rt. 73 and Evesham Road.
The investigation of the stop led to the officer arresting the driver for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of narcotics. During a subsequent search of the vehicle the officer discovered and seized in excess of 50 grams of marijuana hidden inside a shopping bag. The passenger, Crystal Simmons was arrest for the marijuana possession.
Driver – James Simmons, age 47, of Marlton, NJ was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Narcotics along with numerous other motor vehicle violations. He was also charged criminally with a disorderly person’s offense for Being Under the Influence of a Narcotic. He was release on his own recognizance.
Passenger – Crystal Simmons, age 46, of Marlton, NJ was charged with 4th degree Distribution of Marijuana and 4th degree Possession of more than 50 grams of Marijuana. She was released on her own recognizance.
